Have you an old computer lying around, but you don't want to dump it? Why not donate it to Camara NUIG! Camara is an Irish volunteer organisation that uses technology to improve education in Africa.
On the first Wednesday of every month, 10am-6pm, we hold a public drop-off for members of the community to drop-off their computer equipment. All computers, laptops, monitors, and keyboard donations are welcome. We ask for a 20 euro contribution to be given for each computer system dropped off at the drop-off hub, to go towards the 50euro cost to wipe, refurbish, wrap, pack and ship a computer to a school in Africa.
Camara NUIG Society, 18 Distillery Rd., National University of Ireland, Galway
*Directions to Drop-off Hub: Drive up Lower Newcastle Rd, in the direction of Moycullen. Turn right onto Distillery Rd at the AIB student Bank. This will bring you into the NUIG campus. After about 200m there is a turn-off to the left, towards the Kingfisher Sports Centre. Just before this turn-off, the Camara drop-off hub is situated at number 18; a bungalow on its own, on the left-hand side of the road.
