Treasa Ni Mhiollain, the renowned sean-nos singer from ?rainn has been appointed the singer in residence for this year at the Centre for Irish Studies.
Treasa is one of the finest exponents of traditional singing in the Irish language and we are delighted that she will be part of Irish Studies for the coming year at NUIG.
Treasa will be offering a series of sean-nos singing workshops on Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm, beginning on January 25, 2011 and running for 6 weeks. These will take place in the Seminar Room at the Centre for Irish Studies, are free and open to students, staff and the public. Treasa will cater to all levels. Spread the word!
