Bill spoke about his experiences growing up in the tenements and how he began selling ‘everything’ at an early age. He described how he built up his business by rapidly working his way up the ranks. Bill cited the need to approach life with a pep in the step; with Passion, Energy and Persistence (PEP). He encouraged students to set personal and professional goals and to engage a can do attitude to realise these ambitions. The talk which was full of audience interaction proved to be very entertaining, with students commenting on the inspirational nature of Bill’s words.
After the talk Bill was presented with a gift from the Auditor of the society, Paul Curley, and Kealinn Ross, Vice-Auditor. Bill then took questions from those present, with particular interest from the audience in his upcoming journey to be the first Irish man in space. The Business Soceity will be welcoming further high profile guests as part of the series as the semester progresses.
