Aims, Objectives, Vision:

1. To stimulate a social, recreational and academic networking community throughout all departments

2. To provide an inclusive society that welcomes involvement by all postgraduate researh students in NUI Galway

3. To provide a point of contact for advise regarding administration services within NUIG, for example, The Fees Office

4. To organise social events for posgraduate students and create a relaxed environment where postgraduate students get to meet other posgraduate students

5. To create a forum in which to air grievances and seek advice for issues relating to the Ph.D. process and for issues facing research students in particular in conjunction with the Student's Union Posgraduate Officier

6. To provide a campus-wide, recognised avenue for complaints which will be relayed to the Sudent's Union Postgraduate Officier, the Vice President of Student Experience and the Dean of Graduate Studies

7. To provide a platform that encourages and supports ideas to enhance and evolve the Ph.D. experience at NUIG

8. To help and support all postgraduate students in order to enhance their student experience at NUIG

9. To create a unified voice that can be heared across University bodies that represents postgraduate researchers with regard write-up fees which have been increasing year on year, among other issues.

We believe that Academic Excellence is the result of the hard work of the Postgraduate Researchers, the papers they publish, the innovation they provide, the crazy hours they work and the enthusiasm they bring. We are here to help you on your research journey by breaking down barriers on campus and providing opportunities to get you involved and meeting other Research Postgrads, sharing knowledge between departments and through all levels, and letting you know you’re not on your own. We want NUIG to lead all other Irish Universities in Postgrad life, to give you the best possible opportunities for future careers and to have an awesome time getting to the graduation!!
